The metal plastic making is an important aspect in metal forming. The methods of metal plastic forming are rolling, casting, forging, drawing, etc. the rolling with high production efficiency, product variety, low production cost, suitable for mass production, so it becomes a most important method of metal plastic forming. According to relevant data, more than 90% of all is the rolling line. Rolling process is formed by rotating between rollers and rolled piece of friction drag rolled piece into the roll gap between, and caused by the compression process of plastic deformation. In addition to the rolled piece for a certain shape and size, rolling process must also improve the performance of the organization and a certain degree of improvement.According to the production process of different rolling temperature, rolling can be divided into hot and cold. Hot rolling is above the Recrystallization temperature, the steel billet must be sent to the furnace heating or electromagnetic heating to a certain temperature, and then enter the rolling mill. This paper mainly introduces the application of induced spread in flange plate for construction and narrow strip steel.In the direction of the height of the rolled piece in the process of rolling roll under compression, compressed volume, will be in accordance with the law of least resistance along the longitudinal and lateral movement. Along the lateral movement of the volume caused by the change of the width of the rolled piece is called the spread. In the process of narrow strip steel and flange plate steel production, it often adopts the method of forced spread, to achieve the goal of small size billet production wide product. The spread is an extremely complex phenomenon of rolling, affected by many non-quantitative factors in the rolling process. At present, there is no theory or formula to get accurate data on spread. The application of a wide range of several spread formula is in simplified or neglected some factors, for a specific mode of production that data is accurate, so the application of the spread is the way of empirical data.This paper studies the roughing pass design of 150 mm×150 mm continuous casting billet in the 520 roughing mill production line of flange plate steel and the roughing pass design of 200mm×200mm、 165mm×225mm、165mm×280mm continuous casting billet in the 650 roughing mill production line of narrow strip steel, by the way of induced spread. On the one hand, it achieves the target small billet rolling wide specifications of products, on the other hand has solved the problem of groove interoperability, and greatly reduced the production cost, has good economic benefit on rolling mills.
