With the development of social economy, more and more city life garbage output, garbage disposal problem is that every city must face. Currently, incineration, landfill and composting are used more often in domestic areas and abroad. Among them, the effect of the resources, reduction and harmless of incineration is better, but the dioxins, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, heavy metals and other substances, which are produced during the handling process produces, will cause a certain degree of air and water pollution without proper disposal. The paper cites specific engineering performance data of some garbage incineration power generation projects in Jiangsu province, summed up the main pollution sources and the intensity in the industry production process through the analogy analysis, and discusses the pollution control measures and the feasibility in detail. In addition, the key points and difficulties in the project environmental impact assessment work, which including analysis of pollutant source intensity, atmospheric environmental impact assessment, environmental risk assessment, garbage leachate treatment and public participation, were studied in-depth. Based on the current problems existing in the waste incineration project environmental impact assessment work, some suggestions are put forward, and the reference to the research and practice of environmental impact assessment work in such projects in the future are provided. The key findings include:1. The major source of pollution including wastewater, waste gas (including malodorous gases), noise and solid waste four categories;2. The concentration values of various sources of pollutants would be within the limits of the relevant provisions through a more comprehensive treatment, and might meet emissions standards or reuse. The impact on the surrounding environment is in the affordable range;3. The incineration power generation projects in the EIA need to focus on the work of planning and industrial policy conformance, atmospheric environmental impact analysis, environmental risk analysis, leachate treatment process and solid waste disposal measures feasibility content. At the same time, the public opinion is also an important part.
