| With the development of national economy, the hot-rolling strip and plate performance have been pushed to a higher level by the user and the downstream industry. With pilot mill, the new steel grade development and rolling process optimization can be done quickly.Based on the pilot hot rolling mill, developed by the state key lab of rolling and automation for one domestic steel company’s research center,the researching work of process control system for pilot hot rolling mill are carried out, in order to make the pilot mill can service product development and process optimization better.The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1) The hot-rolling strip and plate technology and equipment were introduced, and the computer control system and process system for hot rolling were summarized.(2) The object-oriented method was used for process control system building. The rolling schedule calculation and setup calculation were implemented for the pilot hot rolling mill. The mathematical models used in the hot rolling process were determined, the rolling schedule calculation method was studied, and the total pass number and roll gap of rolling, temperature, speed, rolling force and other parameters were determined.(3) The process control system for the pilot hot rolling mill was developed, The functions such as data communication, data management, process tracking, model calculation, system maintenance were realized.(4) The process and equipment of the pilot hot rolling mill self-developed by our laboratory was introduced. With this mill, experimental research works were carried on.The mill stiffness curve was measured, and the regression curve was obtained, the model calculation roll force was compared with the actual roll force, in order to check the model setup precision.The process control system of the pilot hot rolling mill has been successfully applied in site, and it can well meet the demand of experiment. The pilot mill has been provided for steel company technology research and development as a powerful tool. |
