The cutting part of coal shearer is the main device of cutting and coaling during coal mining process, the ranging arm is the key component to bear the cutting impact load directly. The nonlinearity of cutting teeth load and instantaneous impact load when encounter coal gangues will delivered to ranging arm shell directly, by the time the timevarying impact load, the ranging arm is very easy to be destroyed if it has no good dynamic characteristics. So it is necessary to analyze the dynamic characteristic of ranging arm, meanwhile, the dynamic characteristic has significant theory for the design and improvement of cutting part.This subject, to study the ranging arm on cutting part of a new type of electric shearer, uses 3D digital product design software UG to establish 3D solid model of cutting part and parameterization model of ranging arm, then to import the assembly model of cutting part into MSC.ADAMS for the autoflexible processing of ranging arm to generate modal neutral file (MNF), to build rigid-flexible mixing model of cutting part in MSC.ADAMS for the dynamic simulation after rigid-flexible interchange. Based on the result of rigid-flexible mixing dynamic analysis, uses finite element analysis software NX.NASTRAN to analyze the modal and transient dynamic response of ranging arm on cutting part, at the last, accomplish the dynamic optimization analysis of ranging arm.The rigid-flexible mixing dynamic analysis result shows:The design of shearer is much too conservative, the security coefficient is overtop, the shearer has lots of optimization space; The adjustment cylinder pressure changes violently when shearer cut bottom and top coal. The modal analysis and transient dynamic response analysis result shows:The dynamic performance index of cutting part ranging arm is ideal, for the violent load fluctuation on ranging arm in the course of work, it appears a slight stress concentration in the joint of reduction gearbox and cutting engine, we should increase the fillet when design the joint. The dynamic optimization result shows:The first bound modal frequency of ranging arm has a big increase, the dynamic performance index of ranging arm is more ideal. The topic of research to ranging arm design, analysis and evaluation on coal mining shearer cutting part has important theoretical and practical value.
