As the key support equipment of fully mechanized coal faces, there are many characteristics of hydraulic support, such as variety of products, be updated quickly, large demand quantity. Today, the mass customization production mode is dominant mode of production. To the small and medium-sized enterprise, backward of design method on hydraulic support, confusion of products resource management and other issues have seriously restricted the development of enterprise. So looking for an advanced design method to improve the design efficiency of hydraulic support is of great significance.Based on the hydraulic support and variant design, the variant design method of hydraulic support and its system were deeply studied in this article. After researched variant design theory deeply, the variant design of hydraulic support was divided into three levels of product level, component level and part level. For product level variant design level, mainly researched construction method of variant master model and establishment method of relationship between variant parameters. For components level variant design,product family was divided by modularization theory. Used the top-down assembly modeling method to establish variant master model of different types components combine with CAD software SolidWorks. Then realized variant design of components by their SML. For part levelvariant design, used serial parts design table technology to realize the automatic storage of geometric information in parts SML and realized the rational management of resources by computer language. The specific work of the paper is summarized as follows:(1) Maked the module division of hydraulic support. Take base module for example, used the top-down assembly modeling method to establish variant master model of different types components and built their SML. Maked design table of part acurate three-dimensional model, and built their SML based on the design table.(2) Used SolidWorks software to establish accurate three-dimensional model of hydraulic support and analysed the problems of model constraint. Built variant main model by make model simplify. Distinguished the variant parts and components and their variant parameters, established relationship between variant parameters. Then got variant range by numerical calculation.(3) The paper established hydraulic support variant design system on the platform of C#.NET combined with Access database and SolidWorks. There are part level component level and product level in variant design module. The system set up a product case management module. The module managed the enterprises of various technical parameters and other information by the tree structure to provide relevant information for demand management module.In this paper, a variant design method for hydraulic support product was studied, and the variant design system was constructed. The design efficiency of hydraulic support greatly improved. Realized the effective management of product resources. Meet the specific requirements of enterprises, has a strong practical significance.The paper has 58 figures, 2 tables, 74 article references.
