The Analysis And Design Of Monitoring Control System For Tank Area Based On PLC And Configuration Software

The monitoring system of oil tank area is the basic component of the petrochemical industry. With the development of petroleum chemical industry, the standard of tank monitoring system is increasing strict. The traditional method can’t meet the high accuracy measurement and high safety standard. For the sake of safety and effective production, it is meaningful to develop a set of typical, open and highly reliable monitoring system for tank area. So, in order to establish convenient, advanced and reliable monitoring system, many tank area is getting rid of the monitoring and operation mode.A set of monitoring system is designed, based on Control Logix PLC control system and configuration software of RockWell, and applied according to the characteristics and requirement of oil tank area. The state of the art technology of oil tank monitoring system is firstly introduced in this paper. Next, the control scheme is proposed by analyze the technological and operation process. And then according to the characteristics and requirement of project, the design of hardware components and the structure of equipment cabinet is proposed. The control logical program is designed based on control scheme. Finally, the system is programed to meet the customer requirement and habit, and monitoring data is showed on computer screen. The remote control and monitoring for exit and entrance valve and pump in oil tank area is achieved in this project, in the same time, the liquid level and temperature of tank is monitored. By the design of technological flow of oil tank area, using PLC control system and configuration software, low cost monitoring system for oil tank area is achieved. The application of this monitoring system will definitely enhance management level of whole tank area, reduce labor intensity, improve working conditions and avoid accident etc. So, this system plays a significant role in oil tank area.
