In order to make vibration of the car decrease rapidly and improve the car’s smoothness and comfort, automobile suspended frame is equipped with shock absorber. The piston rod is important component in the shock absorber, and it is vulnerable part during using shock absorber. The demand for shock absorber is big, so it needs to manufacture largely. The production process of piston rod production has a lot. This article studies automatic loading and unloading of workpiece when cuts end face of workpiece. One company cuts end face of workpiece by introducing an economical numerical control lathe with CJK6351 A. The workpiece ups by human and downs by human, which cause the worker labor intensity large and enterprise artificial cost high. So the company urges to realize workpiece,s up-down automatically. Industrial robot, with its high automation and high efficiency, is widely used in practical production. But its expensive price can not make the small and medium-sized enterprises realize automatic production by purchasing a robot. So this paper designs an automatic loading and unloading system. The system and numerical control lathe form a flexible manufacturing system, which can improve the degree of automation of production process.First of all, the structure characteristics of the piston rod and numerical control lathe are introduced in detail. According to function requirement of automatic device, overall design scheme of automatic up-down device is determined, and flow chart is draw.Secondly, According to the requirement of automatic loading device, the mechanical structure for automatic up-down device is designed. The 3D model of automatic up-down device is draw by SolidWorks software. The composition and working principle of the mechanical structure are illustrated in detail.Then, based on the mechanical structure of automatic up-down device, the device of the pneumatic loop system is determined. The demand of control system is analyzed, and control module is designed by overall. Based on PLC, device of automatic control realizes. The PLC hardware and software are designed. The feasibility and correctness of the program is verified by simulation experiment.Finally, by comparing the Siemens SIMATIC panel, the touch screen which is suitable for the design is chosen. Human-computer interface is designed by WinCC flexible configuration software.The automatic loading and unloading system of piston rod has a certain theoretical value, practical value and popularization value in this paper. The system is based on an economical numerical control lathe with CJK6351 A.
