The foam aluminum material prepared by infiltration method is combined with aluminum foil in many ways. The effects of the internal connectivity, surface structure and the cell diameter on the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness (ESE) of aluminum alloy foams were studied. Test and calculation of the yield strength of aluminum foam. Simulate and analyze the stress distribution of foamed aluminum by ABAQUS. The possibility of the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of the graphene reinforced foam aluminum material and the method of the composite were preliminarily explored. The results show that the shielding effectiveness of the aluminum alloy foam with smaller cell diameter is better than that with larger cell diameter. The ESE values of the aluminum alloy foam with the cell diameter d=0.3 mm were within the range 70dB-110 dB. The shielding effectiveness against the low frequency electromagnetic wave (f<1000MHz) can be improved by increasing the surface reflection area of the foams. The shielding effectiveness against the medium frequency electromagnetic wave (1000MHz<f<2000MHz) can be improved by increasing the internal connectivity of the foams. The pore structure inside the foam aluminum material can absorb and disperse the pressure from the upper surface to a certain extent. The addition of graphene can enhance the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of the foam aluminum. It is expected to use the principle and method to enhance the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of aluminum foam.
