Research On Countermeasure Of Government-LED Desertification Treatment In Inner Mongolia

Land desertification is the main ecological problems which restrict the development of the economy of Inner Mongolia. It’s also the reason why caused ecological environment deterioration and poverty of farmers and herdsmen. Desertification treatment in Inner Mongolia has important strategic significance both for the maintaining environmental safety and the improvement of people’s living standard.Desertification in Inner Mongolia has made some achievements after decades of governance. But desertification area ecological environment is fragile and the ecological system is not stable. Some desertification land is still extending. So the situation is not optimistic. In addition, excess reclamation of the grassland, forest land and sand is also serious. Government policies and relative measures are lag. Apply of the market mechanism is not sound. The public participation level is low. Inner Mongolia still has a long way to go in promoting the transformation of economy and the achieving the win-win situation of development and protection.Focusing on government-led desertification treatment, the paper introduces the research background, status and research contents and methods. Based on the present situation and the governance of desertification in Inner Mongolia, introduce the desertification treatment mode and system mechanism. Find the problems and the reasons. Then give the advice to the government combining with the example of the Ordos city desertification control. Finally, give the countermeasures and suggestions for the government-led desertification treatment.
