In recent decades, with the rapid development of urbanization in our country, people’s demand for building materials has been increasing when building new houses or buildings, and the demolition strength of all kinds of ageing buildings has also been incresasing, thus a large number of engineering projects construction produces a large amount of construction waste. More serious is that construction waste has not been effectively recycled after generated from the construction process, a large number of them is landfilled directly, thus not only taking up a lot of land, pollutting the environment, also causing the waste of precious resources of building materials in China. Therefore, with the growing conflict between population, resources and environment nowadays, implmenting minimize waste management is of great significance for our country to realize the goal of beautiful China. Longitudinal well-known, construction industry is a kind of labor-intensive industry, the generation of construction waste during the process of construction project is directly or indirectly infulenced by the behavior and consciousness of project manager or construction personnel. Based on above theory, from the perspective of contractors, this artical explores the factors influencing the reduction consciousness of construction waste and significant differences between the various factors, and finally put forward policy suggestions and management measures in view of the research results.By reading a large number of literature reading materials related to construction waste reduction, based on the mature Ajzen’s theory of planned behavior in the psychology, and by means of semi-structured spot investigation, expert interview and field research on construction project, this paper takes the contractor enterprise as the research object, obtaining the factors influencing contractors’willingness to minimize waste management, and finally building the research hypothesis model. By applying of questionnaire for the empirical research, the statistical software SPSS 19.0 for data processing and analysis, and the factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis for statistical analysis and research hypothesis testing of the questionnaire data, this artical eventually obtains the theory of measurement model of contractors’willingness in the process of the construction waste reduction management. Based on the empirical analysis on the main influencing factors and internal causes of the contractor’s willingness to minimize waste management, this paper puts forward some management suggestions and theoretical basis for promoting the contractors to actively implement of the construction waste reduction, in order to more effectively manage and proess construction waste in the project construction site. The results show that for the basic hypothesis, attitude to minimize waste management, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control directly affect the contractor’s management willingness of minimizing construction waste. Among these factors, attitude to minimize waste management is the most important one influencing the contractor’s willingness to minimize waste management, followed by subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control’s effect is less important. In regard to the expanded research hypothesis, expected earnings, business strategy and enterprise’s strategy and concept have significant influence on contractor’s minimize waste management, thereinto expected earnings’influence is the most important, followed by enterprise strategy and concept. Influence of social and cultural environment, government regulation, market demand pressures on subjective norms of contractor’s management willingness to minimize construction waste declines in turn. Self-efficacy of enterprise, guarantee conditions, and government policy incentives have significant influence on perceived behavior control of contractor’s management willingness to minimize construction waste, whose influence decline in turn.
