In order to improve the delay precision and reduce the drift seconds after long-term storage quantity of red lead-silicon delay composition. Screening optimal base formulation by burning rate measurement and high temperature storage after burning rate measurement and differential thermal analysis and structure analysis of micro combustion residue for the ratio of seven kinds of red lead-silicon delay composition.By experiment, four levels of four kinds of additives on the basis of the formula DTG, DTA analysis, draw the following conclusions:(1) The burning rate reached the maximum value at the red lead content in 70%,and slower gradually between 50% to 70% and slowly increasing between 80% to 95%.When the content of red lead at 70%,the burning rate with a high temperature increase or decrease the storage time of the first stabilized.(2) Through differential thermal analysis can be observed four exothermic peaks appear in the exothermic curve and heat release increased with the decrease in the content of lead increased to seven kinds of basic formula, reached the maximum in the red lead content of 90%; and the main combustion reaction from solid-solid reaction gradually transformed into gas-solid reaction, and draw the basis for the optimal prescription is the red lead content of 70%-80%.(3) Four kinds of additives have played the role of slow burning rate, and the burning rate becomes smaller with increasing content; wherein the delay composition containing cryolite have better accuracy and extension of combustion stability, combined decreased its burn rate and DTA graph can know the quality of cryolite at best about 10%.(4) The mechanism of the additive in the main reaction zone acts as a low temperature "heat sink", and when the reaction temperature was raised to a higher, polyhydric or may form binary eutectics appears in the course of the reaction lattice deformation, the formation of double salts and evaporation, chemical physical changes.
