Thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) is a kind of special thermoplastic elastomer prepared by dynamic vulcanization technology. TPV not only has the high elasticity of rubber at room temperature, but also possesses the processing property of thermoplastic under high temperature. In recent years, TPV has become a hot topic in research, and has a very wide aPPlication prospect. In this paper, three kinds of thermoplastic elastomers are prepared by dynamic vulcanization technology, and their properties are studied. The results are shown as follows.Acrylic rubber (ACM)/polyvinyl chloride (PVC) thermoplastic elastomer is prepared by dynamic vulcanization. The results from mechanical properties, processing property, oil resistance, aging resistance, scanning electron microscope (SEM) and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) measurements show that, when 3# curing agent is used as curing system, curing agent content is 2.0 phr and rubber plastic ratio is 70/30, the comprehensive properties of TPV are the best.Styrene butadiene styrene block copolymer (SBS)/polypropylene (PP) thermoplastic elastomer is prepared by dynamic vulcanization. The results from mechanical properties, processing property, aging resistance, SEM and TGA measurements show that, when sulfur is used as vulcanization system, curing agent content is 1.5 phr and rubber plastic ratio is 80/20, the comprehensive properties of TPV are the most satisfactory. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) measurements indicate that SBS promotes the transformation of β-type crystal into a-type crystal of PP, increases the crystallization temperature and decreases the melting temperature of PP.Ethylene propylene diene monomer grafted with maleic anhydride (EPDM-g-MAH)/ polyamide (PA) thermoplastic elastomer is prepared by dynamic vulcanization. The results from mechanical properties, processing property, aging resistance, SEM and TGA measurements show that, when phenolic resin 2402 is used as vulcanization system, curing agent content is 2.0 phr, and rubber plastic ratio is 80/20, the comprehensive properties of TPV are the best. XRD and DSC measurements indicate that EPDM-g-MAH promotes the transformation of y-type crystal into a-type crystal of PA6, while it reduces the crystallization temperature and melting temperature of PA6.
