According to work deployment of Mengtai Manlailiang coal company which needs to build standardized security and efficient mine, we have built personnel positioning system based on wireless communication for the Manlailiang mine. This system has an important practical significance for the improvment of safety production and the information management of Manlailiang mine.The wireless personnel positioning system of Manlailiang mine is divided into four levels:wireless terminals, wireless access layer, data transport layer, and core application layer. The system can realize the position of underground coal miners, real-time monitor the working state of them and implement information management to all personnel by using Radio Frequency Identification technology. This paper focuses on the design of the network mode of underground wireless network. The system uses the central control wireless switches and the base station access architecture. The underground cable backbone network transmission of the system uses the underground industrial ring network and uses Wireless Mesh Network in the place where is inconvenient wiring. In this way, we achieve a stable, secure, continuous wireless network which allows users to achieve seamless roaming in the network coverage.Manlailiang mine personnel positioning system based on wireless communication provides accurate and reliable information for the coal mine safety production and emergency rescue,which greatly facilitates the management of the mine and ensures the safety of personnel.At present, the construction project of Manlailiang mine has been completed and running well.
