T The LF furnace is the most popular fefine way in the domestic and forien. A distributed control system based on S7400&300 and WinCC is designed with the computer control system through the research and design of 100 t LF furnace in a steel mill。Smelting process is controled by PLC mainly and upper monitor software is finished by WinCC configuration software at the same time it can records and monitors the industrial field data.The basic level control LF furnace includes:Electrode lifting automatic adjustment system,Argon monitoring system,Cooling water monitoring system,Control system of LF furnace body such asLadle walking control,Hydraulic system control and Feeding machine control.Liquid steel heating rate depends on the heating current value When the electrode is heated. It is important to select the optimum electrode working current,So electrode lift control system is the key to the whole control system. According to the electrode arc area, the optimum electrode working current is controlled by different electrode speed. The nonlinear electrode lift system with serious interference randomly can be solved througn monitoring the arc current. At the same time, argon stirring process in the refining process is an important link.Therefore, the composition and control of argon system are analyzed and PID control algorithm is adopted to realize the control of argon gas. According to the operation characteristics of the buggy ladle are analyzed. Theuse of inverter control speed to prevent molten steel splash out the buggy ladle because of inertia. The quality of the alloy is determined by the amount of the alloy. So it is very important to control the amount of material accurately. The feeding quantity is analyzed in the process of feeding and adopt the lead adjustment method to reduce the feeding deviation in order to control the feeding amount accurately.In the research, the characteristics, composition and related control system of LF are analyzed and studied. In practical application effect is more ideal.
