Chelate of amino acid with trace element is a new type feed additive with high effect absorption of trace element which have good characters and biologicalactivities. It is suitable for absorption mechanism and characteristic of body. N-carbamyl glycine(hydantoic acid, hda) and N-carbamyl-L-glutamate(NCG) are analogues of dipeptide which can be used as feed additives. In this article, N-carbamyl glycine zinc was synthesized by N-carbamyl glycine and zinc sulphate heptahydrate in aqueous solvent, N-carbamyl glutamate copper was synthesized by N-carbamyl-L-glutamate and copper sulphate pentahydrate in aqueous solvent.N-carbamyl glycine zinc was characterized by UV-visible spectrum, FT-IR spectroscopy and TG analysis. The single crystal was got by the solvent evaporation method, and its structures had been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction data through SHELXTL program. Results as follows:The chemical formula of chelate is Zn(C3H5N2O3)2. The crystal belongs to P2(1)/n monoclinic space group with following cell parameters:a=7.8565(3) nm, b=10.1697(4) nm, c=13.3273(6) nm, a=90.00°, β=102.756(5)°, y=90.00 (5)°. It is a kind of coordination polymer in the shape of long chain, and it further connect together through interchain hydrogen bonds to get a three dimensional network. The preparation of N-carbamyl glutamate copper was a liquid phase reaction. By single factor experiments and orthogonal experiment, the optimized condition was confirmed. The optimal reaction condition was as follows:copper sulfate as a source of copper, the molar ratio of NCG to Cu was 1:1, the reaction temperature was 60℃, time was 0.5 h, pH was 5.1. N-carbamyl glutamate copper was characterized by UV-visible spectrum, FT-IR spectroscopy and TG analysis. The interaction of NCGCu and Zn(Hda)2 complex with DNA was investigated by UV-vis spectra, fluorescence measurements and viscosity measurements. The results indicate that two complexes can interact with DNA through a partial intercalation mode. NCGCu complex can compete with the strong intercalator ethidium bromide(EB) to interact with DNA for the intercalative binding sites with Stern-Volmer quenching constant, Ksq=1.3. Zn(Hda)2 complex have a low affinity to DNA with Stern-Volmer quenching constant, Ksq=0.044.
