With the development of society and the progress of science and technology, industrial sewing machine is developed towards to personalize, multi-varieties and small batches. The manufacture and design method of traditional industrial sewing machine has been unable to meet the requirement of the market.However,modular design method has advantages in the fileds of shortening the research period of product, strong generality and quick response on market.Therefore, it is significant to apply modular design in the industrial sewing machine.A series of problems such as dividing the feeding mechanism and rotary shuttle mechanism modular, parametric design are introduced by analyzing the theory of modular design and the parametric modeling technology. Finally, the modular design system of feeding mechanism and rotary shuttle mechanism is realized which can be quickly configure a variety of personalized products. The research of this thesis is shown in the following aspects:(1)According to the function, dividing product into module is realized by analyzing and researching on the feeding mechanism and rotary shuttle mechanism. The main parameters and structure parameters of the feeding mechanism and rotary shuttle mechanism are determined. And the relative between the parameters are obtained.(2)The modular design process based on UG should be understood. The parametric modeling is built based on UG-WAVE technology and interpart expression modeling technology.Then the key technology for the modular design of the feeding mechanism and rotary shuttle mechanism based on UG OPEN sofeware is studied. Finally, the industrial sewing machine of modular design system is designed based on the UG OPEN.(3)The system platform is established. The system menu by using UG/OPEN Menuscript is created. And the visual user interface dialog by using UG/OPEN Block UI Styler is created.The system project by using Visual Studio 2012 is created.And the main program for the modular design system is written and complied under the Windows 7 Operation System by adopting Visual Studio 2012 and NX9.0 as developing platform.And ultimately a modular design system of feeding mechanism and rotary shuttle mechanism is established.The main innovations of this thesis are follows:(1)The modular design system of feeding mechanism and rotary shuttle mechanism is designed with the aid of WAVE technology, which can definite the design of products through a few parameters.(2)The technology of "Clone" is applied in the modular design. Modular and parametric design of the feeding mechanism and rotary shuttle mechanism are as seed assemble parts of new mechanism,the relevance of new assembly parts because of this Clone technology. The main program for the modular design system is written.
