In recent decades, with the rapid economic development, the electric arc furnace steelmaking technology at home and abroad has also gotten rapid development. Once an accident happens in the steelmaking process of the iron and steel plant, it will bring a huge threat to the people’s property, life. In order to effectively prevent from enterprise production accidents, the research on monitoring technology of safety production has become particularly important.This paper focuses on security problems of electric arc furnace, analyzing the electromagnetic simulation, based on the internet of things, in oredr to design and realize the safety monitoring system, the main contents include:(1) The electromagnetic modeling and simulation of electric arc furnace mainly uses Ansoft Maxwell to establish a three-dimensional model according to the shape and size of the electric arc furnace, and uses its powerful computing and processing ability to present the electromagnetic field distribution on the condition of arc furnace normal and over current.(2) In order to improve the precision of the system design and reduce the power consumption of the temperature measurement node, the rejecting the mistake error algorithm and weighted fusion algorithm are applied in the security monitoring system of electric arc furnace, based on the current research status of data fusion in wireless sensor networks.(3) The security monitoring system for electric arc furnace is mainly composed of the three parts of ARM terminal, ZigBee wireless communication module and integrated management PC software. The embedded ARM terminal has the function of real-time temperature display, alarm, data query, etc.. Integrated management PC software can display the temperature data of each temperature measurement node in real time; the temperature value in the form of dynamic trend curve; the temperature data, historical data in the form of a list; alarm temperature setting and history alarm query; relevant document preservation, etc(4) After completing the design of hardware and software, the security monitoring system for electric arc furnace is tested, and the results show that the running effect of the system meets the design requirements.
