Compared to other types of pumping unit,beam pumping units has been widely used in various oil fields because of its simple structure, reliable, durable, strong adaptability to field conditions, and other advantages. Beam-pumping unit are of special status in the artificial lift equipment. In order to avoid situation that the beam pumping unit in use cannot adjust imbalance caused by well condition or changes of beam movement and the condition that improvement of balance degree cannot be monitored. Therefore, presentation of the new self-balancing device is of great practical significance under the environment that with a rising of development difficulty so that modulation balance method can growth continuously.This paper build kinematics and dynamics analysis model of pumping unit based on the basic structure after installing a new type of self-balancing device to analyze the motion of point suspension of pumping unit after installing self-balancing device: the suspension point’s displacement, speed and acceleration; output axis torque of gear box and stress analysis.Determining pumping balance criteria and calculation methods of energy-saving rate and the active power.Build the virtual prototype of CYJ10-3-37 HB type beam pumping unit, use the motion simulation software ADAMS to take up kinematics and dynamics simulation analysis of the virtual prototype, after adjusting the balance, the amplitude of output axis torque of gear box has reduced, negative torque has been eliminated. Based on the data of active power from simulation curve, from calculation we can see that the active power has increased by 47.3%.For the new adaptive balance device, we have put forward the design scheme of control system based on PLC, determined the principle of control system and executive components and software design process, designed a suite of control system that can achieve accurate,real-time,automatic adjustment of the aided balance device of conventional beam pumping unit,made the pumping unit work in a better equilibrium and thus realized energy-saving of pumping unit.A conventional CYJY10-4.2-53 HB type beam pumping unit has been modified in field.To debug and test the beam pumping unit after installing adaptive balance device. The test results show that negative torque of output shaft has been eliminated, torque amplitude and active power has decreased significantly. From the debugging results in Daqing oilfield, the device can realize automatic adjusting balance and real-time monitoring, balance degree by0.787 adjusted to 0.901.The control system has reasonable design, strong coordination and high reliability. The modified beam pumping unit has been operating safely for 8 months,there was no problem of under capacity.
