Sewing, as the longest and most complicated section in garment production, is crucial to line efficiency improvement. To analysise sewing production arrangement scenarios can help company make decisions economically and efficiently before garment is being put into manufacture. Basic research on computer aided simulation and assessment of garment production line was done in this dissertation via arranging garment production, establishing simulation model of garment production line, model operation, simulation output, building comprehensive evaluation system and decision-making and guidance about interactive decision-making of garment production arrangement is offerred for companies.Main contents of garment production organization were discussed and analysised in this paper. Sewing operation analysis method according to separated parts of garment product was proposed. Garment product parts were devided into basic parts and small parts, of which the general sewing operations were listed. The basic elements, classification and the parts sewing process analysis method were mentioned. On the aspects of operation arrangement and workstation layout, the proposed workstation layout method was based on several equipments layout forms in workstations. Rules on the sewing operation sequence adjustment, distribution, and ombination were combed based on the predecessors’ research achievements. Features of several typical garment sewing lines were analyzed and some common methods and process of sewing production organization were summarized.Then the universal idea of clothing sewing production line simulation modeling and what’s more, the data collection methods were studied and the specific construction methods and procedures were put forward. The basic conditions and assumptions involved when the simulation model is established were summarized in this paper, and the specific content of the conditions and assumptions in general situations were made. According to the workstation type, object compositions were set as the basic workstation logical structure unit which can be used to form different garment assembly line models flexiblely and easily. Date collection methods were simply explained also.Next, comprehensive evaluation of garment sewing production was studied, the method and process to establish the comprehensive evaluation system and the thought of using comprehensive evaluation method for garment sewing production organization decision-making were put forward. Garment sewing production line objectives were sorted and analyzed, assessment indexes were proposed and the characteristics and the relationship between indicators were analyzed. Pretreatments on the index values were done according to their characteristics and the weight coefficient set up rules were generalized based on the assessment objectives. The comprehensive weighting method combined the ratio method based on the "function driven" principle with the range method based on the "difference driven" principle was used to set the index weight. Linear weight method was applied to integrate indexes to calculate the comprehensive evaluation index to realize multiple-perspective garment sewing production.On the basis of the above research, lounge suit was taken into consideration in this paper. An empirical analysis about sewing line organization, simulation modeling and simulation running, comprehensive evaluation system establishment, analytical evaluation and decision was given.In this study, theory was combined with the real production and computer technology and conprehensive evaluation method was applied to garment production through simulation and assessment. The practicality and effectiveness of the sewing production line simulation and assessment was proved and also the research results can be guidence to companies on multi-objective optimization and quick decision-making of garment production.
