With the rapid development of modern science and technology, in today’s industrial production and manufacturing, processing, testing and other fields of technical requirements are rising. The CNC rotary table is a kind of important functional accessory of all kinds of CNC boring and milling machine and machining center equipment. With its high efficiency,high precision, flexible and reliable features, it plays an indispensable role in areas such as processing, testing. However, on the current status of the domestic heavy-duty CNC rotary table, with foreign advanced products, there is a certain gap in the aspect of precision. So, it becomes very necessary to developed CNC rotary table with higher precision to shorten the gap with foreign advanced products.This article elaborates in detail both the heavy-duty CNC rotary table about the status quo and trend at home and abroad, and the significance of developing this product in the field of processing and detection etc. It compares the different bearing modes of the heavy-duty CNC rotary table, and it in-depth study and elaborate the heavy-duty CNC rotary table from the overall structure of the selection, transmission scheme design and calculation and selection of parts of the design, the working table of clamping mechanism, and hydraulic control and lubrication system design, especially calculated the the film thickness and oil film stiffness of hydrostatic guideway.The design and selection scheme in this article is from the actual project, based on meeting the needs of users of bigger bearing power, high precision, high reliability, the maximum limit of consideration to the economic type of products. In the development of each link, strictly follow the design specifications, all the calculation data, are based on theoretical calculation. It analyzes the key components and the bearing capacity of the CNC rotary table with finite element analysis software.The heavy-duty CNC rotary table designed and developed in this paper has been successfully delivered to the user, been adopted by the project acceptance, and it is successful.It provides a theoretical basis and engineering examples for the design and development of similar CNC rotary table, and also has some reference value for the design and development of CNC rotary table with higher precision and bigger bearing power.
