The traveler is the key accessory for ring spining frame to product high-quality resultant yarn in the textile industry. In the entire traveler production process, manufacturing traveler substrate is an indispensable part.High-speed rolling mill is the important equipment which rolled the round wire into the model substrate.In the rolling process,the round wire is unwinded from the unwinding tray, and rolled into the substrate by 2-3 pass flat rolls.Finally,the winding of the substrate is realized by the winding motor, and the servo motor can finish the working distance of the substrate.In the cold rolling process of the traveler substrate,tension control of the wire throughout the whole production chain.As the tension fluctuation can lead to a decline in the product quality and efficiency,so it is important to develop the dynamic tension response and steady state accuracy of rolling mill electrical system. In order to improve the product efficiency,studying a reliable tension control system become the prerequisite for the transformation and upgrading of traditional rolling mill.To solve the shortcomings of traditional rolling mill, such as mechanical transmission noise, rollers paired difficultly, high cost of replacement,short life and low substrate forming precision.This paper mainly researched the feasibility that mechanical decouple the paired rollers and rewind-form shaft, and proposed the solution that make paired rollers and rewind-form shaft separately driven.The new system adopted the feedforward compensation to realize the high precision tension control.Unwinding unit changed the given signal by the moment equilibrium model,combined with tension link, constituting a closed-loop torque control to achieve good passive unwinding. Rolling unit adopted 2-roller rolling craft,the wire speed took the master-slave control strategy,depend on set and control the speed difference between the 1-2 mill,indirect control the wire’s tension, then realizing high precision tension control.Winding unit changed the given speed by the Radius-Velocity model,combined with tension link, constituting a closed-loop speed control to realize the winding tension control.Row spacing driven by servo motor and synchronized movementof the winding motor,thereby placing the substrate on the I-shaped tray neatly.Finally,according to the craft requirements, a upgrated control system is designed.The maximum wire speed of rolling mill can increasing from the original 160m/s to 220m/s, and the wire speed is continous adjustable.The system can produce all kinds of substrate,thickness ranges from 0.1mm to 0.8mm,width ranges from 0.6mm to 3.6mm.The new system has many advantages,such as high control precision, stable operation,low noise and long service life.
