In the oil field production operations, pumping condition monitoring is a vital link. By monitoring the operation state of the pumping unit, making corresponding maintenance and timely adjusting for the pumping unit with adverse working conditions, can reduce the occurrence of pumping unit fault and also improve the work efficiency of pumping unit.However, the working environment of oil production is severe, well spacing is relatively dispersed, which causes great inconvenience to the monitoring of the pumping unit. With the development of digital oil field, well use of the automation technology for real-time monitoring of the pumping units’ working condition, realizing intelligent oilfield production management has become an important research topic in the area of oilfield development.Due to the inadequate of condition analysis and data transmission for the current pumping condition monitoring methods a new monitoring method must be put forward. The method is based on the electrical parameters of the motor, and its transmission is ZigBee wireless network technology combined with GPRS data communication technology organically. Finally, a system for monitoring the pumping unit condition should be designed.First, the article starts with the energy consumption of pumping system and characteristics of the motor, establishes the mathematical model of electrical parameters with the liquid supply situation downhole, with the system pumping parameters, with pumping unit balance. Then combined with the actual situation, design the scheme of intelligent monitoring system. Finally, design the hardware part and software part of the system detailed according to the scheme. For the hardware part, develop the intelligent network module. In the module,the CS5463 chip is used as data collect, and the SZ05-ADV-2000 chip is used as data transmit.The module can either collect electrical parameter data, transmit it to the host computer in real-time, achieve the integration of wellsite data real-time collection and transmission; builds ZigBee + GPRS wireless communication network, not only improve communications, but also reduce the cost significantly. For the software part, software system is made of the collection module for wellsite data, the server for communication and analysis, the database module and the client module. Use the Visual Studio 2010 software, achieve the design of those modules, and obtain the software of the intelligent condition monitoring systemTested the condition monitoring system in the oilfield, the results proved that the system can monitor the working condition of pumping unit very well, the adjustment program proposed by the system is accurate. The system solves the problem of measuring for dynamometer test equipment such as difficult to measure, the measurement data is notinaccurate, and long measurement cycle. In addition, the system does not need measuring instruments such as pressure sensor and echometer, not only makes the installation and acquisition operating more simple, but also the cost is lower, achieves the design purpose of this article.
