With the development of economy, China’s wood demand is pushed further out. It leads to increasingly sharp contradictions between a large demand for wood and dwindling wood resources. In order to resolve the contradiction, People begin to make full use of quick growing species of trees, branch wood and logging slash. A new type of recombinant wood technology with single board can make full use of small wood. Its products can be comparable to solid wood and hardwood. We need to design a small diameter wood slicing machine to produce qualified recombinant wood.According to the design requirements of woodworking machine and production process of slicing machine, I have analyzed the structure layout and working principle of existing veneer slicer. I have made overall design of the small diameter wood double side continuous longitudinal cutting machine. I have analyzed the motion process of the small diameter wood double side continuous longitudinal cutting machine. I have calculated the cutting force and cutting power and theoretical output rate. I have determined the main technical parameters of the small diameter wood double side continuous longitudinal cutting machine.I have made structure design for each component of the small diameter wood double side continuous longitudinal cutting machine according to the overall and layout requirements, including cutting mechanism, driving mechanism, clamping mechanism, frame, and so on. I have optimized the design of transmission structure by the complex meth.I’ve carried on static analysis of the main parts of the small diameter wood double side continuous longitudinal cutting machine by using finite element software in order to make sure the structure to meet the strength and stiffness requirements and the structure design reasonable. Besides, I have made vibration analysis of cutting mechanism and calculate the natural vibration frequency of the small diameter wood double side continuous longitudinal cutting machine to avoid resonance during working time.I have also designed control system of the small diameter wood double side continuous longitudinal cutting machine after the completion of the design of the whole machine. I’ve chosen reasonable control elements and write control program. Then, I’ve designed control interface.The design and research of the small diameter wood double side continuous longitudinal cutting machine provides a new idea for the design of plane cutting machine and a valuable technical support for the development of plane cutting machine industry.
