The rapid development of tourism, when injected vigors to the local economy, also brought some negative effects on the sustainable development of tourism. The sustainable development of tourism has become the important field in tourism research. SWOT analysis of coastal wetland ecotourism development which was based on Yancheng, Jiangsu province in recent years and combined with the tourism ecological footprint in 2014. On the combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis, the sustainable development of the regional ecological tourism has carried on the scientific analysis and evaluation. Then combined with the regional background to put forward relevant policies.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)Yancheng coastal wetland development of ecotourism area has natural resources and transportation advantages, also with significant economic, market opportunities and favorable policy opportunities.(2)Yancheng coastal wetland tourism ecological footprint of per capita in 2014 was 0.054941hm2, tourists per capita biocapacity was 0.051658 hm2, which was less than Yancheng coastal wetland tourism ecological footprint per capita. The per capita ecological deficit was 0.003283 hm2.(3)From the type of land constituting on tourism ecological footprint, the key to achieve sustainable development of Yancheng coastal wetland which is to reduce the ecological footprint of fossil energy. To achieve this purpose, we should adhere to the green development concept and use clean energy. And it is also particularly important to improve the efficiency of energy using.(4)From the ecological footprint of tourism consumption structure, the impact of tourism on the outside of tourist area was much larger than the seaside. When the Lian-Yan railway line, Xu-Su-Huai-Yan passenger line and Yancheng-Huaian passenger lines are opened, they will offer more convenient traffic conditions, but also bring a high ecological footprint of tourism.(5)To achieve Yancheng coastal wetland ecotourism goals of sustainable development, good planning is prerequisite for tourism and tourism service is the basis to optimize. To achieve these, it also needs to improve the development system. At the same time, strengthen supervision and the implementation of ecological compensation; cultivating eco-residents and encourage community participation; promote regional cooperation and promote common development are all very important.
