With stable spindle speed, small footprint, energy saving, low noise, easy to intelligent control and other multiple advantages, motor-driven spindle spinning frame has become a trend. But limited to some of the key technologies of motor-driven spindle and cost issues have not been satisfactorily resolved, motor-driven spindle spinning frame has not really enter the market.Vibration is an obstacle to the high-speed of both motor and spindle, is one of the key indicators to evaluate the dynamic performance. Therefore, combine with the requirements of the stability of the spindle which proposed by spinning process, reference previous research on the vibration characteristics of traditional spindle and motor, research on the vibration characteristics of motor-driven spindle, this will help to improve the motor-driven spindle spinning frame’s speed to market.Base on full understanding of the structural characteristics of motor-driven spindle, working principle, performance requirements and the main factors affecting the motor-driven spindle’s performance, the vibration characteristics of the motor-driven spindle is studied.Firstly, this article describes in detail the causes of unbalanced magnetic pull, presents a calculation method of radial and axial magnetic pull, calculates and analyzes the unbalanced magnetic pull of motor-driven spindle’s driven motor, lays the foundation for analyzing the vibration characteristics of motor-driven spindle.Secondly, this paper describes in detail the transfer matrix method and the common transfer matrix, derives the transfer matrix of radial magnetic pull shaft section, establishes numerical models of critical speed, vibration mode and unbalance response.Furthermore, this paper establishes a model for modal analysis of prestressed and non-prestressed, by means of finite element analysis software Ansys Workbench.Finally, this paper presents the results for critical speed, vibration mode and unbalanced response of numerical model based on Matlab and finite element model based on Ansys Workbench, analyzes and summarizes the vibration characteristics of motor-driven spindle, in particular the impact of unbalanced magnetic pull on the vibration characteristics of the motor-driven spindle.
