Development And Application Of Drilling Rig Derrick Simulation Database

Derrick is one of the important parts of the oil rig. In recent years, finite element analysis software is widely used in strength analysis and calculation of the derrick. Although ANSYS software has the powerful ability of calculation, it has some weaknesses. The operation process is somewhat complex. In order to improve analysis and calculation of the derrick the efficiently and automated, and highly summarize the previous research work and the derrick calculation and analysis method, a set of drilling rig derrick simulation database is built.First of all, the model bases of ZJ20 to ZJ90 rig derrick and so on were build, which includes the nodes location, the Component of the element and the parameters of the Size and shape of every rod piece. And the Derrick simulation analysis software was compiled with VB programming language. By using the new software we can carry out this kind of function that if you modified a little part of the model in the model bases, you can immediately build a new derrick model, and you can also build an APDL file based on this new model. IN this way, the modeling time is greatly simplified for the users, and it will improve the computational efficiency.Secondly, the software interface of the rig derrick simulation is built in VB program. The software can complete the derrick ANSYS static calculation, stability, reliability, and fatigue calculation, which provides a good technical support for the reliability analysis of derrick.Thirdly, the interactive interface technology between VB program and ANSYS software was worked out by using external function implements. So the VB interface can be connected to the ANSYS software. The pre-processing, post processing and Solution work in the ANSYS software can be run in the background.Finally, the finite element analysis of drill derrick parameterized modeling method was discussed. a parametric modeling module for the derrick was establish. And it can achieve that when you input the necessary parameter for example the length of the bars, the soft ware can print out the Nodes coordinates for modeling the derrick. And by connecting the nodes the element can be built. And then we can get the whole simulation analysis model for the derrick.
