Machine tool is the basic equipment of the national economy and the key for the development of equipment manufacturing industry. The stability of machine tool transmission system has a significant influence on machining accuracy. Therefore, the dynamic analysis of the machine drive system has important practical significance and high value.In this paper, the 3D model of machine tool transmission system was constructed by SOLIDWORKS. And the simulation analyses of kinematics and dynamics for models of rigid body, rigid-flexible and gear contact were performed in ADAMS. The natural frequency and the corresponding mode shapes of the drive shaft and the overall system were also calculated. The main contents of this paper are as follows:Firstly, the kinematics and dynamics simulation analysis of the machine tool transmission system was conducted base on the model of rigid body. The corresponding curves of displacement, angular velocity, plus load of each drive shaft and load curve of each drive pair have been obtained.Secondly, the mesh models of each drive shaft were constructed by ANSYS. And the rigid-flexible model of transmission system was established in ADAMS. The kinematics and dynamics simulation analysis of the machine tool transmission system was performed. The corresponding curves of displacement, angular velocity, plus load of each drive shaft and load curve of each drive pair have been obtained. The kinematics and dynamics simulation accuracy of the machine tool transmission system was improved.Thirdly, the stiffness coefficients of spur gear for each machine transmission have been derived. The rigid- flexible model of contact vice transmission was established by defining contact between gears. The curves of displacement, angular velocity, plus load of each drive shaft have been obtained.Finally, the modals of each drive shaft and transmission system have been calculated, the first six natural frequencies and mode shapes of the drive shaft and transmission system. The results may provide data support for avoiding the resonance of the machine.
