| Two different kinds of composite oil absorption resins, such as acrylic ester resin modified with hydrophobic different morphology MgAl Layered Double Oxides(LDO),were synthesized by suspension polymerization, respectively. The samples were characterized by Fourier transmission infrared, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, etc. The adsorption properties and reusability of as-synthesized resins were researched.MgAl LDO nanoneedles were prepared by hydrothermal method. The as-prepared sample was modified by sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS). The composite material of hydrophobic MgAl LDO nanoneedles and butyl methacrylate/ butyl acrylate/ styrene resin was synthesized by suspension polymerization. The optimum reaction conditions were as follows: dispersant(polyvinyl alcohol) 3%, crosslinker(N,N′-methylene bisacrylamide)3%, initiator(pure benzoyl peroxide) 1.5%, MgAl LDO 5%. Moreover, the absorption properties of composite resin were on trial in this study. The absorption capacities for toluene, chloroform and carbon tetrachloride were improved, respectively.Simultaneously, the kinetic of the composite resin was investigated. Furthermore, the reusability of the polymer has also shown with larger adsorption capacity.Biomorphic MgAl LDO using cotton temples was fabricated by infiltration and subsequently calcination. The as-prepared sample was modified by sodium dodecyl sulfate. The surface of biomorphic MgAl LDO was hydrophobic. The composite material of hydrophobic biomorphic MgAl LDO and butyl methacrylate/ butyl acrylate/ styrene resin was synthesized by suspension polymerization. The optimum reaction conditions were as follows: dispersant(polyvinyl alcohol) 3%, crosslinker(N,N′-methylene bisacrylamide)3%, initiator(pure benzoyl peroxide) 1.2%, MgAl LDO 3%. Moreover, the kinetic of the composite resin was investigated. The absorption capacity and regenerability of composite resin were researched. According to the characterization of composite resin, it can be concluded that the addition of biomorphic MgAl LDO make the oil absorption capacity and thermal stability of composite resin were improved. |
