Axis is one of the important parts of the machine,which occupies an important position in the mechanical industry. With the development of modern industrial technology, people has higher and higher requirement for the quality of parts processing.The process of high finish machining of slender shaft is common in machinery manufacturing industry and i also one of the difficult process. At present, the general method of long axis of surface finishing processing is grinding. Bending and vibration easily in the grinding proc-ess, it can’t even get ideal surface roughness and shape accuracy especially the cylindricity and finish, due to the long axis of the poor rigidity and thermal deformation.This paper adopts the centerless rolling method is a new type of rolling processing method. This method need not the clamping and has high production efficiency. It over comes the characteristics of the slender shaft such as the big flexible and plastic in the machining process.With the elastic-plastic deformation theory, this paper based on the 10 mm diameter metal steel rod with circular cross section as the research object, and established the motion relationship of the rolling wheel and the workpiece and the mechanics model of roll system. The rolling parameters of design calculation is completed such as roll- ing pressure、 rolling speed、diameter of roller、roller width、sent to Angle.Firstly,this paper based on the rolling pressure、 rolling speed、diameter of roller、roller width、sent to Angle as the main research parameters. Centerless rolling process of steel rod theory analysis to determine the scope of them.Then,through orthogonal test to determ-ine the main influence factors’ influence law of and influence degree of primary or secondary order and the scope of the optimum parameters of the roller, on the surface of steel rod after rolling and residual stress of the cylindricity for target parameters. Lastly The centerless rolling further analysis, in order to solve the problems of swing easily in the process of rolling workpiece, the paper put forward the feed roller rolling wheel on both sides to increase two groups of solutions. Through the simulation experiments, the optimum position of feed roller and the best pressure are coming out.
