The “less humanizing” or “unmanned” of fully mechanized coal face is becoming the key to achieve safety and high efficiency production, which is also the development direction of coal mining technology. As the core mechanical and electrical equipment, Shearer automatic cutting is the requirement for achieving automatization and intellgentiztion of mechanized mining. Shearer automatic cutting is mainly used in the middle of mechanized mining workplace and artificial controlled in the end of coal mining face, which is against automatic production of coal mining. Therefore, it is necessary to study shearer automatic cutting in the end of coal mining face.In this paper, the shearer memory cutting in the end of coal mining face was taken as research object, analyzed the present shearer control technology and existing problems, a method of shearer memory cutting based on expanding path and load balancing was proposed to achieve automatic cutting in the end of coal mining face, and the main results could be expounded as follows:(1) By analyzing the basic structure, working mechanism and cutting technology of shearer, considering the functional requirements and technical essentials, a control option of shearer memory cutting in the end coal mining face was proposed and the overall framework was also established.(2) The memory points selecting and points data structure of extension path were studied based on shearer position and and stance positioning, and the points of distortion were took out by using support vector machine algorithm. By researching tracing metmethod of extension path, the tracing goals were developed for extension cutting path based on NURBS curves, and the tracing strategy was also studied based on normal memory points and action memory points.(3) Through analyzing the relations among cutting load, cutting-hauling current and cutting-hauling temperature, the balance indexes of shearer in the end of coal mining face was confirmed. Therefore, the key parameters, such as cutting-hauling current and cutting-hauling temperature, were forecasted based on wavelet neural network, and the load balancing method of shearer in the end of coal mining face was determined based on fuzzy logic.In this study, the shearer memory cutting in the end of coal mining face was verified through the laboratory experiment and industrial test. The results showed that the system can achieve anticipated function, which lay a foundation for automatic production of coal mining face.
