As a core plant in working face,shearer is still an extremely essential part of working face automation. In recent years,shearer has made considerable progress in draught method,main control system,wiring,protect system and other aspects. However,auto-steering of shearer drum has still not broken through virtually yet,so it is the bottlenack of working face automation now. What is auto-steering of shearer drum? It means that shearer drum is adjusted atuomatically according to distribution of coal-rock to reach optimal statments. From the 1950's ,domestic and abroad research organizations were studying on this problem at all times. And more than 20 kinds of identification of coal-rock have been proposed. Now only the technology of memory cutting is on the practice,but it is limitly applied because of sundry application requirements.Therefore,development of drum auto-steering technology is articulated one side,on the other hand research notion of this paper is confirmed: on the base of oversea memory cutting technology,gray prediction is added. And coal-rock distribution prediction is extended from two dimension to three dimension. Simulation shows that it is effective and feasible and more advantageous than that of foreign countries. To specify the whole system better, it is divided into four parts. First, running mathematical model of shearer in working face is proposed to be theoretical basis for further research. Second, in the premise of performance requirement, small volume and fixing feasiblely mining sensors are selected. And principles and characteristics of obliquitous sensor and position sensor are conveyed. Meanwhile zero adjustment and temperature compensation are adopted for these sensors. Third, DSP is regarded as main contronller, so fast and high-capacity data access,memory cutting algorithm,flexible and convenient communication are achieved taking advantage of powerful hardware resources. Principle of every module,design technique of interface circuit,measures for improving reliablity are articulated in detail. In addition software of this system is introduced, include c and assemble, so hardware resources are fullly utilized and the programmes are understood easily and transplanted conveniently. And last, some problems during debuging are expressed, and improvements for them are proposed simultaneously.
