Width, gram weight and moisture content are the important indicators of the quality in the dyeing and heat setting process. Establishing the modle between width,gram weight, moisture content and heat setting process parameters, including temperature, heating time, overfeed and tenter, which is the premise of achieving precise quantitative design for the heat setting process parameters and closed-loop control of width, gram weight and moisture content.The mainly research result is as follows:(1) On the basis of analysis of heat setting process mechanism, the article deduces the mathematical model between width, gram weight, moisture content and warp’s and weft’s tension amount, temperature and heating time, which is got from heat setting process elastic knitted elastic kinetic and thermodynamic equations. In addition, the article verifies the validity of the model by actual heat setting experiment.(2) For the existing heat setting devices, the article establishes the mathematical models of tenter, speed, overfeed, and gram weight control systems, then designs the PID controllers of each control system. What’s more, the validity and rationality of the system models and the control plans can be proved in two ways of simulation and experiment.(3) After analyzing the coupling relationship between process parameters and quality indicators based on the theory of correlation analysis, the heat setting process will be simplified to a multivariable control system, whose operating variables are overfeed and temperature, controlled variables are gram weight and moisture content. Moreover, the article establishes the mathematical model of multivariable control systems, uses the method of relative gain analysis to match the variables correctly, then designs the dynamic feedforward decoupling controller to achieve decoupling control for the quality multivariable system so that the relevance between weight and moisturethe loop can be removed effectively and the systemstability can be improved.(4) Developing heat setting quality control system. The human-machine Interface design of heat setting quality control system, achieved on the Kingview platform, can monitor the process parameters and quality indexs visually.Researches of this article can provide effective reference for modeling and controlling the heat setting quality multivariable control system, and all of these are important for improving quality of products and reducing energy consumption.
