Research Of Information Acquisition Concentrator In Smart Grids

So far, the history of power system development has been more than a hundred years. At present electric power operation environment becomes more and more complicated, the power system is reforming and making progress. As new century coming, resource and environment pressure make people begin to examine huge potential of the power system in energy conservation and emission reduction, China start to develop Smart Grids. Household smart meter is a part of Smart Grids application. There are a lot of disadvantages in the traditional artificial meter-reading way, so it can not adapt to the needs of the power system now. Remote automatic meter reading has become the research focus because of its high efficiency, the advantages of small error ration.This paper describes and analyzes the domestic and forign remote meter reading situation and developing trend, at the same time according to the market’s actual need, from the meter reading system developping studies this kind of wireless carrier concentrator. Because the concentrator plays an important part of a meter reading system connecting between the above and below communication. This paper introduces the design process of concentrator detailedly, including overall design, hardware and software design of the concentrator, etc. And lists the several used data transmission commonly in the meter reading, put forward the GPRS communication and power line carrier as its main methods of communication solutions, it adopts ARM9 series chip S3C2440 as the main controller chip, designs the hardware of LCD connection, power line carrier communication,and GPRS module.Software part is based on embedded Linux OS, mainly including U-boot transplanting, kernel tranplanting, file system transplanting, LCD drive function, the program of data storage management ,data acquiciton process of electric energy meter (communication protocol mainly adopts DL/T645-1997 multi-function electric meter communication protocols), finally do experiment of GPRS sending data. Make the concentrator become the core part of multi threading work, high efficiency and stability of the reading meter system.
