The Study Of Differences In Cultural Landscapes Between University Campus And Commercial District

In recent years, China entered a transition period of rapid economic growth.Accordingly, university campus and commercial scenic area have also entered a phaseof rapid development. However, they are places of different functions. So there aremany differences between them. From the perspective of culture, this paper finds outsome distinctive differences between the two by analyzing real examples.This thesis is divided into three parts: the first part reviews the current researchresults in about the landscape of university campus and commercial scenic area athome and abroad, and introduces the significance of this study. From the macro view,this part also compares the differences of them in theme, style, cultural and aestheticconnotation. In the second part, by defining the cultural landscape, chapter twoexplores the main practices in creating it, and then it explores the factors that affecthow to achieve that goal in university campus and commercial scenic area. After that,chapter three compares their characteristic differences in cultural landscape, whichprovides the theoretic foundation for the following research. In the third part, bycomparing the concept and practices of creating cultural landscape between the newcampus of Jiangxi Normal University and Aixi Lake in Nanchang City, this chapterdraws some implications for creating cultural landscape in university campus andcommercial scenic area, they are: culture should complement the landscape; culturalconnotation should math with the landscape; and art should blend with the wholeenvironment of landscape.
