Green environmental and high-efficient diesel engine is the key to resolving theproblem of haze and energy conservation, and crankshaft is a very important componentof diesel engine. Force situation of crankshaft in the work is complex, good quality of thecrankshaft is vital for the normal work of the engine. Bending and upsetting forging is anessential manufacturing technologies to produce engine crankshaft. A study of the16RK270crankshaft forging process is made in the paper by means of FEM numericalsimulation.A set of tooling for forming the fiber crankshaft is designed in this paper, The toolingof three-dimensional model is established, rational structures are described in detail.Forces of main structural parts of the tooling are analyzed, tooling movement simulation isdiscussed by Using the UG software in this paper.With nonlinear FEM software DEFORM-3D as a analytics platform, the bending andupsetting forming process of the16RK270crankshaft is analyzed through thermal-elasticsimulation. The plastic flow law in the process of bending and upsetting forming processof the crank is pointed, at the same time, the forming laws, forming force, equivalentstress, the changing rules of distribution of temperature are analyzed. The main defectsfrequently occurring in crank forming process and their origin have been analyzed.Therefore, the forming quality evaluating indicator is fixed. several factors whichinfluence crank forming quality have been selected and adopted single factor cyclicalmethod, the influence rules of technological parameter of mould and blank, thetemperature, the friction, the speed of upsetting process on forming quality are analysedand the best technological parameter is fixed. The study of related problems provideimportant reference value to the production of crankshaft bending and upsetting forgingequipment and the fix of manufacturing technique.
