Since the end of the20th century, with the outbreak of global oil crisis and theincreasingly serious problem of air pollution, people pay more and more attention onautomobiles’ energy-saving and environmental protection performance. As therepresentative of new energy vehicles, the prospect of pure electric vehicle getswidely anticipated. Car dashboard is an important window for human-vehicleinformation communication, the driver can obtain all kinds of information from cardashboard. The research on dashboard of electric vehicle is also one of the keytechnologies of the research and development on electric vehicle. However, thecurrent domestic study on electronic instrument system of electric vehicle has onlyjust begun. Based on the characteristics of electric vehicle, automobile electronictechnology and the basic principle of vehicle ergonomics, this paper studied theelectronic dashboard system of electric vehicle through virtual instrument technology.The main research contents and innovation including:1. Research and analyze the status quo and development of electric vehicle,automotive electronic technology and dashboard technology. Besides, elaborate thenecessity and important significance of the study on electronic instrument system forelectric vehicle.2. Based on the basic theory, concept, composition, characteristics, basicclassification and constructing method of virtual instrument technology, analyze thestructure and display of the electric vehicle dashboard system. A simulation design isproposed based on virtual instrument technology.3. Based on vehicular CAN network, analyze and research the software andhardware of the electric vehicle dashboard system. The electric vehicle dashboardsystem has been developed. The system can not only show the conventional vehicleinformation, also can realize navigation and positioning, network communication,entertainment, and the function of driving records. By using the advantage of thevehicular CAN network, the dashboard system has fast response, high reliability,stable performance and clear beautiful interface. The dashboard system has apromising market application prospect.
