High performance ferrocement laminate is strengthening technology which has justemerged at home and abroad, with high performance mortar as bonding material, with highstrength steel wire mesh, steel bar, steel wire mesh as bearing material, and has thecharacteristics of high-strength, fire-resistance, corrupt-protection, non-pollution and easyconstruction, etc. Based on the analysis of the columns reinforced with high performancemortar, a method which reinforced with HPFL-stick steel was adopted. The influence on thebearing capacity,the ductility and energy dissipation of columns reinforced by this method isinvestigated. From the research of this paper, we hope it can provide reference value ortheoretic foundation for practical engineering. Thus, the research on this new method haspowerful theoretical guidance for practical engineering and important value of the theory andpractice.Based on the seismic test by of RC column strengthened with high performanceferrocement laminate, this paper establish numerical model using OpenSees, and analysis itsseismic performance. Mainly includes the following three aspects:(1) Prove the reasonabilityof the structure, establish the finite element models, which include unreinforced column of theaxial compression ratio of0.24, reinforced column of the axial compression ratio of0.24andreinforced column of the axial compression ratio of0.48, compared calculation results withtest results, verify the reliability of finite element model and its calculation;(2) Based on theabove comparative analysis, the factors of the stirrup ratio, longitudinal reinforcement ratio,concrete strength, steel wire quantity effect on the seismic behavior of strengthened columnswere researched;(3) Finite element model of HPFL-stick steel reinforced column isestablished, unreinforced columns and reinforced were compared.Through the above research work, the following major conclusions:(1) the calculatedvalues are in good agreement with the experimental values, the finite element model canrepresent good practice;(2) with the increasing of the stirrup ratio, longitudinal reinforcementratio, concrete strength, and steel wire quantity, ultimate bearing capacity and ductility ofstrengthening columns can be improved4.4%~21.3%;(2) On the basis of the methodreinforced by high performance mortar, this new method which strengthened by HPFL-sticksteel can further improve the mechanical properties, bearing capacity increased by30.6%~36.8%.
