With the development of high productivity and high efficiency in coal mine, the scraperconveyer which is the main transport equipment of the fully mechanized coal mining face, isdeveloping towards the direction of large capacity, long distance and large power. As thedrawing mechanism of the scraper conveyer, the scraper chain’s working state has a greatinfluence on the scraper conveyer, and also it affects the safety production of the mine. So it’simportant to analysis and optimize the characteristics of the control apparatus of chain tensionor the automatic tensioning system of the scraper conveyor. The work completed in this papermainly includes as follows:Based on the study of the automatic scraper conveyor tensioning system workingprinciple, this paper analyze the main factor influencing the tension force of the chain, andalso analyze the influence on tension force of the chain, which is affected by loads. Thestructure and working principle of the automatic tensioning hydraulic system is studied andthe parameters of the hydraulic components are calculated based on principle of hydraulic.The working principle of automatic tensioning system of the scraper conveyor was studied,and both of the working performances of extension and shrinking were analyzed after theconstruction of simulation model of the hydraulic system in AMESim. With the study of thegenetic algorithm and the working principle of PID, the performance of the system in theconstraining conditions are optimized based on PID using genetic algorithm to solve theproblems in the simulation, which makes the performance of the system achieve the designedeffect.The research work of this paper not only proves a theoretical basis for the improvementof the working performance of the automatic tensioning system of the scraper conveyor andthe design in the future, but also offers a new method for the modeling, simulation andoptimization of the complex system in multiple disciplines.
