Emulsion pump is the power source of hydraulic support system, and one of theimportant link to guarantee the safety of high yield and high efficiency fully mechanizedmining of a modern coal mine. To meet the continuos innovation of fully mechanized miningprocess, emulsion pump also evolved to high pressure and large flow direction.This kind ofrapid development trend, coupled with the operating characteristics of the pump itself, poorworking conditions, maintenance and repair are not in place, which lead to reducing pumpfailure, improving the reliability of emulsion pump are particularly important. The design andproduction of emulsion pump at the present stage is more mature, but due to the low level ofmanagement, maintaining technology of coal mine enterprises, unscientific maintainingstrategies, and so on. All the factors results in low using reliability of pump, and higher faultproportion. Thus, it becomes an urgent problem to improve the using reliability of pump.In this paper, the BRW400/31.5emulsion pump was taken as an example. Based onreliability theory, the reliability model of variable matrix independent identically distributedsamples of Army Materiel System Analysis Agency (AMSAA) was applied to quantitivelyanalyze the reliability index of emulsion pump. The fault characteristics of different years ofworking and working environment emulsion pump were summarized through statisticalanalysis of fault data. The multiple fault of BRW400/31.5emulsion pump was summarized,and the control measures were proposed, and the impact of use condition was analyzed. Fromroutine maintenance and reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) as the starting point forcoal mining enterprises in the use, repair and management of pump, the reference and methodare given. To achieve purpose of guiding the practice of enterprises, saving resources andimproving emulsion pump reliability.
