The culture of Huizhou Gatehouse is profound. As an important part of HuizhouArchitecture, its formation and development represents the historical development ofthe city and the trace of social value orientation. This paper tries to generalize andanalyze Huizhou gatehouse in Ming Qing Dynasty with the method of Typology,Exploring its types, it aims to summarize a set of typological factors of Huizhougatehouse. and hope that these can provide a useful theoretical support to the heritageand development of modern architecture. This article mainly include the followingthree aspects:The first part (the first three chapters):Firstly, There is an overview of morerefined about Huizhou Housegate origin, development, and the underlying politicalhistory, economic and cultural background. Secondly, Having a classification of thegatehouse shape and elaborating the decorative features and FengShui culture. Thesecond part (chapters4and5): It introduces a research methods of typology,andapplies it to the gatehouse shape and the type of space research, In order tosummarize and abstract the main type characteristics, as well as the culturalconnotations behind the host. The third part (Chapter6): Starting from the view ofHuizhou Housegate type and with A combination of some representative and typicalinstances,it analyzes the remains in the protection and the development of moderninnovative design about the gatehouse culture characteristics of Huizhou.This paper tries to provide a thinking through a more detailed analysis anddemonstration, Hoping the Architectural colleagues can have an emphasis on thegeographical and cultural heritage protection in the design trends of the modern era.
