Vehicles will experience a certain delay when they pass the signalized intersection.The delay time estimating at signalized intersection has vital significance to trafficmanagement, public vehicle scheduling, signal timing optimization and the route choiceof individual traveler and so on. But because of the limits of detection methods andtechnical conditions et al, there is still lack of signal timing estimation method and theanalysis method of the delay time of individual vehicle at signalized intersection withstrongly operability.The delay time of individual vehicle at signalized intersection is concerned withthe signal timing parameters and the vehicles’ stop position. Focusing on the problemabove, this article firstly considers the characteristics and convenience of FCD todiscuss the signal timing estimation method based on the team’s delay pattern trianglegot by the analysis of the team’s delay characteristics at signalized intersection. Thenconsiders the influence of abnormal data and the result of the signal timing estimationmethod to establish the relation model of signal vehicle parking delay and the parkinglocation based on the analysis of the relationship between vehicle stop delay and stopposition. Research work mainly includes the following three aspects:First, it studies the stop delay data acquisition method of individual vehicle basedon GPS data and has made the corresponding improvement in view of the fact that thetraditional deceleration point method cannot determine the vehicle stop times. Itdetermines the vehicle’s key points by using the average spacing (average speed) of twoadjacent GPS data and then we can get the vehicle parking position and the delay timeat a time. The results show the practicability and validity of the method and laid thefoundation data for subsequent research.Secondly, aiming at the condition that the floating car GPS data coverage rate islow, we studied the signal timing estimation method of signalized intersection based onthe stop delay data. And based on the team’s delay pattern triangle got by the analysis ofthe team’s delay characteristics at signalized intersection, we discuss the signal timingestimation method both in unsaturated and oversaturated condition. Finally, by fusion ofmultiple data, GPS positioning error, the lack of data and others caused by theaccidental factors is reduced. The results show that the method has good estimationeffect, and can adapt to different types of signal intersection. Finally, in view of the pollution to delayed data caused by the GPS positioningerror, data missing and other accident, take advantage of the robust regression method,LTS regression are used to establish the relation model of signal vehicle parking delayand the parking location in both the unsaturated state and oversaturated condition periodof time. The results show that the model has good estimation performance.Research results show that the signal timing estimation method and the relationalestimation model of the stop delay time and the location of individual vehicle havehigh precision and practical value.
