Integral impeller is widely used in advanced aircraft engines and other industrial fields. Itsstructure is complex and high precision. The contour detection is an important step in themanufacturing process. Coordinate measuring machine(CMM)is a high-precision testing equipmentof3D geometry. It has the advantages of high measuring precision, good repeatability and high degreeof automation. It is one of the main measurement methods of integral impeller parts. Implementationof integral impeller reliable automatic measurement planning and simulation plays an important roleto improve the level of detection technology of integral impeller. In this paper, some key technologyof planning and simulation of CMM measuring the integral impeller were studied and the maincontents are as the following.(1) Measuring path planning technology is studied. Study on cross-sectional variety of type lineconstruction method and their scope; it Propose a curvature-based point sampling measurementmethod in order to better distribution of measurement points; Study based on ethnic models of probescomponents are established and different pose model load methods for subsequent measurementsimulation more direct; Study on accessibility cone method to improve the accuracy of pose screeningmethod of measuring head; Use of distributed measuring points results the planning detection order ofmeasurement points.(2) Measuring simulation technology is studied. Research on collision detection algorithm is toimprove the efficiency of collision checking. Two kinds of obstacle avoidance methods are based onthe parameters of the obstacle avoidance and safety bounding box collision avoidance. They have todeal with all kinds of collisions. Measurement simulation is realized by the virtual assemblysimulation technology.(3) DMIS program generating method is studied. The CMM automatic measurement through theDMIS programming method based on variable set is achieved. Position vector is measured usingDMIS programming for real-time calculation and used to probe radius compensation.(4)The method for measuring the monolithic impeller on CMM with dividing apparatus isstudied. Application of indexing device is to realize CMM measurement of integral impeller. Analysisof the center of the hub shaft and dividing device central axis don’t coincide with the eccentric error.This paper presents two methods of eliminating eccentric error in order to obtain more precisemeasurement. Finally, the main functions of each module of planning system of CMM measuring the integralimpeller are introduced. Operating system for a certain integral impeller of measurement planning, thefeasibility reliability of measurement planning system and planning method are verified.
