Research On Flight Connection Time And Delays Classification

Flight delays has always been a major problem plagued to air transport industry, and with therapid development of the air transport industry, flight delays become more and more prominent,seriously affecting the interests of passengers and air transport enterprises,improving the situation ofdelays imminently. In order to improve flight punctuality rate, the Civil Aviation Authority and therelevant departments to take a variety of measures such as the introduction of measures to requirethree major airlines airport in Beijing,Shanghai and Baiyun of not less than2%of the total capacity ofthe aircraft; Flights ranked by the normal rate to grounded three months, severe operating rights tocancel the route. This shows that the determination of Chinese civil aviation management flight delaysand improve service quality, but its effect is not quite ideal. Setting flight connect time andformulating aircraft routes are an important part of the plan, over a reasonable time and the sciencestation aircraft routes can improve flight punctuality and passenger satisfaction, while reducing theeffect of flight delays, namely to improve the robustness of the flight plan. For this,the followingaspects were studied for flight delays:(1) Analysis of factors affecting flight delays, according to historical statistics, establishhierarchical index system delays; using objective and subjective weighting method for each indicatorempowerment, combined with risk analysis, multi-level fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method forgrading each flight be delayed;(2) Based on the classification of flight delays, we optimize the flight departure time throughre-adjusted flight connect time, while maintaining the original aircraft routes and crew pairs, as wellas the entire flight-line over the total connect time;(3) Considering the propagate delay and optimizing the aircraft routes, we establish a flightscheduling multi-commodity network flow model which is based on the aircraft delay spread. Thenwe use the column generation algorithm and a branch and bound algorithm for solving the model,minimizing the operating costs and propagate delays.So, it can mitigate the impact of the propagatedelays on flight plans and improve the robustness of flight plans.Finally, we use the ILOG optimization software platform for instance validation, And wecompare the original plan, the optimization of flight connection slack time based on flight delays riskclassification and the robust operation on the flight delay propagation-based aircraft assignmentComputational results obtained using data from a major domestic airline show that our approach can reduce delay propagation significantly, thus saving the operating costs and improving on-timeperformance.
