Research On The Rapid Repairing Material Of Asphalt Pavement Pothole

The pothole is the most common and the most difficult disease to deal with in thedaily maintenance of asphalt pavement, especially in cold winter or humid rainyseason. The traditional hot mix asphalt repair material cannot timely and effective torepair potholes. While the cold mix asphalt repair material which is expected toachieve cold mix and cold application, can be a batch production and stored for a longtime, accessed using, without secondary heating. It is suitable for the winter cold inthe north and south rainy season to use, which is easy to use, fast and environmentalprotection. The study can help cold mix asphalt repair materials used widely inpractical engineering maintenanceThis paper studied the failure mechanism of pothole of asphalt pavement andanalyzed the direct cause of pothole. Meanwhile this thesis studied the purpose ofpothole repair and the cause of the damage again of pothole, on the basis of aboveresearch,the feasibility which the cold mix asphalt repair material uses in potholerepair was put forward.This article selected three kinds of cold mix asphalt repair material which istypical in China. This paper designed the aggregate gradation and the optimumasphalt content through Marshall testing method. Moreover this thesis usedMohr-Coulomb theory analysis the strength formation mechanism of cold mix asphaltrepair material. Finally the research shows that the cold mix asphalt repair materialwas a material who’s strength grew over time.This thesis analyzed and evaluated the pavement performance of cold mixasphalt repair materials through the laboratory test, including the adhesion of asphaltand aggregate, the initial Marshall stability, the late Marshall stability, the Marshallresidual stability, the freeze-thaw splitting test and the high temperature rutting test.Therefore this paper came up with the test method and the corresponding evaluationindex of cold mix asphalt road repair materials.This paper discussed the construction craft and construction quality control of cold mix asphalt repair material. What’s more, the social and economic benefit ofcold mix asphalt repair material was analyzed.
