With the development of era, more and more large-span spatial structures havebeen applied in public buildings. Especially the single-layer cylindrical reticulatedshell owning to the features of reasonable economy is more widely used. At the sametime, the impact phenomenons often occur. The impact load has the characteristicsthat the effect time is short and the impact load is the devastating, so the impactaccidents once occurred maybe very serious. Nowadays,it has become a hot issue forthe disaster research on the large-span spatial structures under impact load.In this backgroud, its research is about the dynamic response analysis of thesingle-layer cylindrical Simply Supported Steel reticulated shell structures underimpact load through numerical simulation and physical model test. and summarizesthe failure mode of the reticulated shell, The main research conclusion are thefollowing several aspects:1. Taking the advantage of the ANSYS/LS-DYNA to analyze the dynamicresponse characteristics of the members stress, the node displacement, the nodevelocity. According to the final deformation pattern and the members’s damagequantity, there are four failure that is Slight Damage, Local Depression, OverallCollapse and Punch Failure, when the single-layer cylindrical reticulated shell isunder impact load.2. It has the significant influence that whether or not considering the effect ofgravity on the members stress, the node displacement, the node velocity and the finaldeformation of the structure. But it has no significant effect on the impact load of theimpact point.3. The essence of impact is the kinetic energy of the impactor is converted intothe strain energy and kinetic energy of the cylindrical reticulated shell. The numericalexample analysis indicate that the most kinetic energy is converted into the strainenergy of the structure, the process of energy transfer has the characteristics ofprogressive and wave transmission;...
