Research On The Takt Time Of Shipbuilding Based On Intermediate Products

The important characteristic of modern shipbuilding mode is theintermediate product. Takt Time is the main content of the productionmanagement for shipbuilding construction. Good control of intermediateproducts Takt Time has a crucial role to improve production efficiency andmanagement level. However, a flood of literature shows that the level ofChina’s control management in Takt time is far behind the level of what inadvanced shipbuilding countries. Obviously, shipbuilding capacity isconstrained when China shipyards want to go further improvement.In order to guarantee balanced shipbuilding construction, achieve balanceand synchronization, and improve the level of control management in Takttime, this paper goes further study on Takt Time of intermediate productswhich exist in the process of shipbuilding construction. The paper is designedto provide a theoretical basis for shipyards, and shipyards can effectivelycontrol the Takt Time. The main contents of this paper are as follows:Firstly, the shipbuilding intermediate products are classified into groupsaccording to group technology and system engineering theory. Afterestablishing intermediate product-oriented shipbuilding task system, all kindsof tasks are divided in detail. Then put forward the new ideas for productionstandardization of intermediate products.Secondly, considering a variety of literature, actual field research andpractical experience in shipyard, the method to control the shipbuilding TaktTime is formulated, combined with the characteristic of shipbuildingconstruction. These methods include controlling the production plan ofshipbuilding and standardizing the shipbuilding cycle. This paper deeplyanalyses the major conventional factors which affect the Takt Time in theprocess of shipbuilding. Each factor’s weight is obtained by analyticalhierarchy process.Thirdly, as an important intermediate product, ship block is chosen as thespecific research object. Through analyzing the organization pattern, processflow, resource allocation and staff arrangement of panel block and curvedblock fabrication, this paper summarizes the methods to calculate the Takt Time of block fabrication and the key to control the Takt Time. Then putforward the key technology to control the Takt Time of shipbuildingintermediate products, including balancing the equipment capacity, adjustingthe operation groups, controlling the process and precision, and shortening theswitch time of operation.
