With the increase of elderly population in China, nowadays the aging problembecomes more serious than ever. The Government stated clearly in the “TwelfthFive-Year Plan” to respond actively to the aging problem. According to the plan, amechanism will be established to provide nursing service based on home-based caresupported by nursery community and pension agency for the aged. However, thesouthern region of the uneven development of facilities for the elderly, and the elderlycomfortable living environment is not enough. With the development of the times andthe elderly demanding higher environmental quality of the facilities for the elderlybedroom space, comfortable design of the bedroom space, especially the design ofthermal comfort is particularly important.This article through the of ergonomic, elderly physiology, elderly psychology,geriatric medicine, environmental building climatology theory, This paper analyzesthe influencing factors of thermal comfort of the bedroom space facilities for theelderly, Including climate and cultural practices, the elderly, physiological andpsychological needs and behavioral characteristics. On the basis of analysis of theimpact of thermal comfort factors, this paper investigates the southern region of morethan a dozen facilities for the elderly and Taiwan’s two facilities for the elderly andselects typical apartment style facilities for the elderly, and simple measurements andsurveys of access to these facilities for the elderly. By analyzing the survey results,the quantitative data, as well as interviews Check the elderly and staff, I summed upthe problems the thermal comfort of the bedroom space, according to the surveyresults, the analysis of the needs of the elderly thermal environment. Eventually,based on the status quo problems summarized, this chapter presents the generalprinciples of the design of the facilities for the elderly in the southern region of thethermal comfort of the bedroom space, and propose layout, material, color, structureand other aspects of the design of Points and cautions through three aspects, includingfurniture, doors and windows, interface, and to improve the quality of life of older persons, and to create a comfortable living environment for the elderly.This paper begins from the theories analysis, then to the actual investigation, andend to the theories level again to improve the quality of life of older people, toimprove the thermal comfort of the bedroom space facilities for the elderly in thesouthern region, and enrich the study of the theory of the facilities for the elderly.
