In the circumstance of the great construction wave that many universitiesbuilding new campus. And abundant of schools choose the building with giantstructure, because of its prominent advantages such as the intensive use of landresources, the integration of various functions, and the efficient utilization of teachingresources. However, the mega-structure in university has large size and complexspace, so it is important to evaluate weather it can meets the needs of users. Inaddition, it is different to the qualitative analysis which base on describing, thequantitative analysis is more rational and reliable. Thus, the quantitative analysis ofspace is a method which research space reasoningly in a quantificat evaluation,and itcan study the architecture space more deeply that able to get more reliable conclusion.The main idea of this paper is to analyses the global and local space of themega-structure in university rationally with the the theories and technologies of thequantitative analysis method, and evaluating the space base on the participants in thespace system. Through the research in this paper, make a effort to perfecting the studyof the mega-structure in university in the aspect of quantitative analysis, meanwhile,confirm the feasibility of the method and reflect the value of the quantitative analysisof space.Firstly, this paper introduce the origin, development and research status at homeand abroad of the mega-structure in university, in addition, make specificinterpretations to the theories and technologies of the quantitative analysis of spacethat set the stage for later research analysis. Secondly, the comprehensive teachingbuilding of Hua Qiao university is taken as an example, which is specific quantitativeanalyzed from three aspects——spatial relationship, comprehensibility of space andthe motion status of participates in the space. according to the three aspects, clearingthe implicit logic of space, evaluating the understanding to the space of participantsand talking about the compatibility between the building and the externalenvironment base on the motion status of participates. At last, according to the abovetheory and case analysis, sum up all the conclusions in this paper, point out thedeficiency of the study and expect the future research.
