Quantitative Analysis And Verification Of Building Space Based On Space Syntax Zhengzhou University As Example

To architects, Space is the eternal proposition. They design the form of space, butactually function is the real needs, so the prediction from form to function becomes adifficulty in design, the controversy between the form and function of space has neverstopped, but only in the existing buildings, the function and the form exist together.It’s the most powerful feedback on architectural design to analyze the existingbuildings’ space accurately.Space syntax is the main tool to quantitatively evaluatethe space objectively, which based on the theory of fabric structure in space andspatial relationships. It has formed a complete theoretical system, maturemethodology, and also the special spatial analysis software technology. As a newlanguage to describe the space pattern of buildings and cities, the basic idea is to scaleand slice the space, analyze the complicated relation. It is not only concerned aboutthe spatial accessibility of local, but also stressed that the overall spatial accessibilityand relevance.The thesis chooses the architecture department of Zhengzhou University as theresearch object, uses the space syntax analysis as the research angle of view, selectsconnectivity, control,depth, integration of the space syntax analysis index as theresearch variables, using convex space, the line of sight, from the Perspective of gridspace quantitative analysis method, constructs the construction of ArchitectureDepartment the spatial relationship building graphic and quantitative analysis of themodel, through the model calculation, quantitative analysis and on-the-spotinvestigation, results show that quantitative analysis and space syntax based on actualusage has high correlation. It has certain reference value for similar research methodsof architectural space and architectural space quantitative analysis of deep miningpotential.The thesis consists of five parts. The first part mainly elaborates the background,current situation, research purpose and significance, methods and thesis framework ofthis topic research. The second part is the theory of space syntax and its research methods and related concepts. The third part mainly analyzes the architecturedepartment of Zhengzhou University quantitatively and objectively through thetheory of space syntax and its analysis method, find out the relations and problemsexist objectively of the space itself. The fourth part is the investigation and researchof the architecture department of Zhengzhou University, get to know the real usage ofits space, such as human behavior, spatial relationship with the surroundings in thespace, and so on, then comparatively analyze the results of quantitative analysis usingspace syntax theory and practical research, evaluation of the architecture department,summary of relevance and contradiction in process of design and use, and thecorresponding solution and improvement ideas. The last part is summing up theabove.
