With the rapid development of power electronics, rare earth permanent magnet materials, microelectronics, computer control technology, digital signal processing technology, sensor technology, motor control theory and motor manufacturing technology, AC servo systems which gradually replac the DC servo systems have made great progress and become the mainstream in servo system. Recent years, demands such as high speed, high reliability and disturbance rejection in radar servo system are increasingly presented with the development of modern defense industry, especially in rotating phased array radar and the radar which needs to work long hours. In this paper, the development of permanent magnet synchronous motor servo system is analyzed and summarized comprehensively in the aspects of the permanent magnet synchronous motors(PMSM), power electronics, control strategy and motor control IC etc. A DSP based PMSM servo system is designed and set up in order to satisfy the needs in modern radar servo system.First, the torque equation and voltage equation of PMSM in d q axis are discussed and its model in d q coordinate is established according to Clarke and Park transformation. Implementation of the system is proposed using the PMSM vector control principle, the system controller design and SVPWM driven principles. Accordingly, simulation analysis by Matlab/Simulink of the system are given to verify the feasibility of the proposed PMSM system.Then, hardware&software of the system are designed based on modeling and simulation analysis. Hardware circuits including DSP minimum system, interfaces, testing, rectifier and filter, inverter, discharge circuits, absorption circuits, drive and protection circuits are analyzed and designed. TMS320F28335is selected as the control core, and IS61LV51216is system expansion. The IGBT module FP100R12KT4which integrates a rectifier bridge and a temperature sensor is selected as the drive core in this paper, all of which contribute to improve the integration of the system. In addition, MAX3160is used to implement interface circuit selection of RS485and RS232in the serial communication interface circuit, when AD2S1210is used as the location information conversion element. Software is designed with the main program as the core and interrupt service program as the focus.Finally, a test platform for the system is built according to the performance needs, and detailed experiments are carried out to verify the effectiveness of the proposed system. Conclution is given in the lase to summarize the achievements of the paper.
